Sharpsburg ES 2012 geography bee

Sharpsburg Elementary School held their 2012 Geography Bee on January 12. The SES Geography Bee finalists in Grade 4 were Mason Gumm, Emmiline Pasquerette, Avery Poffenberger, Clara Ritenour, and Elena Scheerer with Peyton Blood, Claire Hahn, Steven Hamilla, Karen Hosova and Isabella Hosova representing Grade 5. Each participant received gel pens, a ribbon and participation certificate. The SES Champion was Fourth Grader Emmeline Pasquerette who received a medal from the National Geographic Society and a trophy. The second place winner was Fifth Grader Isabella Prenger who also received a trophy. Mrs. English (Enrichment Specialist) was moderator with Mr. Hench (principal), Mrs. Monninger (Fourth Grade teacher), and Mrs. Brunner (Student Achievement Specialist) serving as judges, and Mrs. Weaver (Fifth Grade teacher) timekeeper.
