Somerford Assisted Living residents make the day special for felines at the Humane Society of Washington County

Hagerstown, MD: Residents at Somerford Assisted Living recently undertook their annual Cat Nip project and made special treats for the felines at the Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC). On Friday December 9, 2011 some of the residents delivered the treats to the shelter.
"Everyone loves to get involved with this project," said Caroline Dunning, Programming Assistant at Somerford Assisted Living. "We grow the cat nip in the garden and then cut out the fabric and sew the mice shaped toys together." All of the effort was well worth it when the cats began to play and purr.
"It is obvious the treats delight the cats," said Paul Miller, Executive Director at the HSWC. "I am not sure who appreciates all of the Somerford resident's hard work, us or the cats," he added with a smile.
Someford Assisted Living is located at 10116 Sharpsburg Pike Hagerstown, MD 21740 and offers general Assisted Living on a beautifully landscaped campus in Hagerstown.
