It's Only Ink! Tally O'Malley

It's Only Ink!
Tally O'Malley

The O'Malleys are going on vacation. They have a long, hot, boring drive ahead of them. Just when the fighting between siblings Eric, Bridget, and Nell begins, Mom comes up with a way to keep their minds busy-a tally game. They each choose a color and start counting cars, next they count t-shirt, and lastly, they count train cars. Who wins? Find out by getting your hands on "Tally O'Malley" by Stuart J. Murphy.
Written for children ages 6 and up, this book would work well in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade classrooms as a story before a tallying project. Children, at home or in school, can have fun learning how to keep track of objects they are counting by using tally marks. Tally marks also reinforce children's ability to count by fives.
The colorful illustrations enhance the playful, easy-to-read text. This mom and reviewer highly recommends Murphy's fantastic children's book.
