CCT Holds Open Auditions for "Miracle on 34th Street"

Chambersburg, PA- Chambersburg Community Theatre (CCT) will hold open auditions for its November production of Miracle on 34th Street on Monday and Tuesday, September 15 and 16, from 6:30-8:30pm in the main auditorium at the Capitol Theatre, 159 S. Main St. Please enter through the Wood Center entrance to the rear of the Capitol Theatre Center.
Auditions are open to anyone wishing to try out. No previous stage experience or preparation is necessary. Actors will read scenes from the script. Children's roles: age 6-12 and adult roles: late teens (to play adults) - 50+. The show will run November 14-16 and 20-23 and will include a morning performance on November 14 for local schools.
Miracle on 34th Street is adapted by Patricia Di Benedetto Snyder, Will Severin and John Vreeke, from the novel by Valentine Davies. Vicki Gontz will direct; she will be assisted by Paris Helman.
Show synopsis: Kris Kringle is the personification of good will and holiday spirit. As Macy's holiday Santa, he enchants children and shoppers so completely that he is deemed dangerous by fellow employees who question his competency and plot to ruin him. A small girl's belief in Santa and the magic of the holiday is at stake in a climactic courtroom decision.

Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children/students (through college with current ID). Tickets purchased at the door will be $15 for adults and $10 for children/students. An additional $2 per ticket Capitol Theatre handling fee will be added to each ticket. Tickets are available at the Capitol Theatre Box Office located inside the main theatre lobby at 159 S Main St., or by calling 717-263-0202.
