Just a Taste: Chipotle in Hagerstown

Just a Taste
Chipotle in Hagerstown

Recently I ate at the new Chipotle on Garland Groh in Hagerstown. I have to admit, it was my first time, but it won't be my last.
Chipotle Mexican Grill is sure to be a popular place for lunch (and dinner).
With roughly 10 people ahead of me, it was a good way to experience the efficiency of the newly opened restaurant. I decided to dine in to get the full experience and to see how many people would arrive in the time I was there. As I waited, I picked what I wanted to eat. I was at my table eating within 10-12 minutes. I was impressed to say the least.
Their "assembly line", with limited choices, keeps the line moving like clockwork.
Here's how it works: first you choose what you want, choosing from burritos, fajita burritos (replace beans with grilled peppers and onions), a burrito bol (without the tortilla, like a salad), or tacos (soft or crispy). Then choose a meat (niman ranch pork, spicy shredded beef, chicken, or steak) or go vegetarian (fresh guacamole and beans). The first server on the line starts off your creation, adds the meat, and then slides it over to the next server, who fills your creation with your choice of salsas and other toppings. Lastly, it's wrapped up and travels to a third person, who either bags it for you to go, or places it in a basket if you are dining in.
A side of chips and salsa, and of course, a drink are extra.
I got the steak burrito bol with rice, corn salsa, lettuce, pinto beans, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and fresh tomato salsa. It was de-lish!
The toppings you get inside your lunch creation are plentiful and just plain good. The heaping mound of cilantro lime rice made for an excellent filler. Everything was fresh, warm, and full of flavor. The opted to get the chips and medium-spiced salsa and enjoyed both. The chips, lime-salt I think, are good whether you eat them with a salsa or without.
I like the create-your-own meal that Chipotle has to offer because if you are trying to stay healthy, you can still eat out and achieve this by YOU deciding what goes in your meal!
To make things even easier, you can fax in your order, walk up to the counter, pay, and you're on your way again.
If you're looking for a new place to dine, I recommend Chipotle Mexican Grill.
