Coming to The Maryland Theatre: Elliott Yamin

Coming to The Maryland Theatre
Elliott Yamin

Hitting the top ten of the VH1 charts with his break out soundtrack, "Wait For You" and straight from American Idol fame...Elliott Yamin hits The Maryland Theatre with his unique soulful brand of R&B music Monday, November 5, 2007 at 8pm.
American Idol finalist Elliott Yamin is riding high on the success of his self-titled debut album, released in March of last year, propelled in part by his first smash single, "Wait For You." The 29-year-old singer is preparing to release his next single, "One Word," and embark on a tour of the U.S., which kicks off on October 5th in Chicago, arriving in Hagerstown only one month into his touring schedule.
Born in 1978, vocalist Elliott Yamin first gained recognition as the second runner-up on the fifth season of the reality show American Idol. Prior to American Idol fame, Yamin made his home in Richmond, Virginia. Since leaving the show, Yamin's self-titled debut made a big dent on the charts and spawned three monster singles.
Yamin was a fan favorite from the start and ultimately made it to the final three rounds along with eventual runner-up Katharine McPhee and eventual winner Taylor Hicks, who also recently performed to a packed Maryland Theatre audience. "We expect great crowds for Elliott Yamin as well. He's got a large and growing fan base with loyal American Idol watchers in the area," says Maryland Theatre Development & Marketing Director, Jenni Hatcher. It's not often that the caustic Simon Cowell tells someone that they're "potentially the best male vocalist" that's ever appeared on American Idol.
Yamin sums up his musical style by saying, "It's an eclectic mix of just different sounds for every listener out there- for the ('Idol') viewers, for the young cats, for anyone in between."
Tickets went on sale Saturday, September 29, 2007. On Monday, October 1, 2007 the tickets will be available online at www.mdtheatre.org and over the phone at 301-790-2000. Ticket prices are$50.00-$30.00 reserved seating.
