Nutcracker Auditions To Be Held

Auditions for Potomac Classical Youth Ballet Company's annual production of "The Nutcracker" will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2007 from 1:30 P.M. - 4:45 P.M. at The City Ballet School located at 14 N. Potomac St. in the Elizabeth Hager Center in downtown Hagerstown.
Performances of "The Nutcracker" will be presented at The Maryland Theatre on Saturday December 8 at 7:30 PM and Sunday December 9, 2007 at 3:00 PM.
Dancers must be present for the entire block of time noted below for their age group. These are not individual walk-in auditions. More than 80 dancers will be needed for this production. All children who wish to audition must currently be studying ballet. Dancers are needed for children in the party scene, big and little mice, soldiers, snowflakes, Waltz of the Flowers, big dolls, cookies, angels, polichinelles, and the character dances in Act 2. Adults are needed for the party scene. Adults do not need previous dance experience.
Ages 12 and up- 1:30-2:30pm (arrive by 1:15pm)
Ages 8-11- 2:45-3:45pm (arrive by 2:30pm)
Ages 5-7- 4-4:45pm (arrive by 3:45pm)
(Birthdate must be on or before September 1, 2002)
Dancers must audition in the age group for their age on the day of the audition.
Audition fee is $10
All children wishing to audition must be accompanied by an adult and arrive in proper dance attire. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to register and get ready. Audition fee is $10. Be sure to bring along the following information: child's height, weight, and dress, shirt, and pants sizes.

Each role rehearses every weekend (either Friday evening, Saturday morning or afternoon, or Sunday afternoon). Children cast in more than one role will have more than one rehearsal each weekend. Please keep this in mind in making your decision to audition. A complete rehearsal schedule will be provided to dancers cast in the production.
