Trauma seminar offered through HCC
(Hagerstown, MD)-Hagerstown Community College's Continuing Education and Community Services Division is offering a trauma seminar on Fri., Oct. 7, from 7:45AM to 3:45PM, in the Elliott Center on HCC's main campus.
Continental breakfast begins at 7:45AM. A series of sessions and workshops will follow, including: "Facial Trauma and Reconstruction," at 8AM; "Emergency Radiology" at 9:15AM; "Pediatric Trauma," at 10:45AM; "Pediatric Drowning," at 1PM; and "Dealing with Unidentifiable Severe Trauma Patients," at 2:15PM. Guest speakers will be Michael Christy, MD, assistant professor in the division of plastic and reconstructive surgery and director of microsurgery at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center; Fred Moeslein, MD, an assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine; Allen Walker, MD, MBA, an associate professor of pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine; Walter Kerr, MD, a certified medical transport executive and flight paramedic; and Bruce Klein, MD, an associate chief in the division of pediatric emergency medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Six professional continuing education credits are available for nurses, nurse practitioners, and emergency medical personnel who attend the entire program.
