Ghost Walk Scheduled for Fort Frederick State Park

(Big Pool, MD)- The Friends of Fort Frederick, Inc. and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources have announced the return of the Ghost Walk at Fort Frederick State Park. The event is set for Saturday night October 25th, and has been a Halloween-favorite, and brought back by popular demand!
The night will include a guided tour of the park. Along the route, visitors will encounter ghostly travelers from the historic past of the world-famous Fort Frederick. The fort is 252 years old, and rich in history - including the French and Indian War, the American Revolution, and the Civil War. Visitors will walk through a guided 'haunted' trail where they will encounter costumed actors reenacting historical situations from during the venerable fort's past.
The Ghost Walk will take place from 7 to 9pm. Gates will close promptly at 9:00, but visitors who are in line will still be permitted to go on the tour.
The Ghost Walk tour costs: Ages 6 and up: $5.00, Under age 6 will be free.
Sturdy and weather appropriate clothing is a must, as terrain can be rugged and/or muddy. In case of rain, the event will still be held. (Barring lightening and thunder.) Food will be available for purchase while waiting to begin the tour. Also, refreshments will be served in the nearby CCC museum after the tour.
All proceeds from the event directly support the Friends of Fort Frederick State Park, Inc., which is a non-profit organization. For more information, see: www.friendsoffortfrederick.info.
