Veterans Trip to WWII Memorial in Washington D.C.

Veterans Trip to WWII Memorial in Washington D.C.

Hagerstown, MD (October 2, 2008)- The City of Hagerstown is hosting a second trip for veterans of World War II to visit the WWII Memorial in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. The trip will leave from the Central Parking Lot in Downtown Hagerstown at 8:00am and will return at approximately 4:00pm.
Spearheaded by Councilmember Lew Metzner, the first Veterans Trip took place in April 2008 and took approximately 50 people to visit the WWII Memorial in Washington D.C. The interest in this trip inspired a second trip to be planned so that all WWII Veterans in this community have the opportunity to be honored for their service to their country with this journey of gratitude.
All veterans of World War II who are residents of Hagerstown and Washington County are invited to attend the event on October 22. The Veterans Trip is sponsored by the City of Hagerstown, Washington County, McDonalds, Callas Contractors, Inc. and Conservit, Inc. Interested persons may contact 301-739-8577, x183 for more information and to make reservations.
