Rose Hill Day
Rose Hill Day
If Studebakers, Hudsons, Packards, croquet, hoops, and ice cream sundaes sound enticing, then venture out to Rose Hill Manor Park, 1611 North Market Street, Frederick, Maryland on Sunday, August 17 to experience a part of the past during the annual Rose Hill Day festivities. The Francis Scott Key Car Club's 23rd annual show features over 100 antique and vintage vehicles in a wide variety of judged classes plus a car parts flea market. Car show hours are 10-3.
Visitors are also invited to join the Children's Museum for food, fellowship, and fun during the ice cream social from 12-3. Visitors may play with old-fashioned toys and participate in a variety of games. This year's children's hands-on-crafts will allow visitors to craft unique creations "fueled" by their own imaginations.
Families are invited to bring picnics and enjoy the shade of the trees on the front lawn of the historic manor home. "Choose your own" ice cream sundaes will be available with ice cream $1 a bowl and toppings 50 cents each.
The manor house and carriage museum will be open with regular admission prices; there is no charge for other activities. Further information about Rose Hill Manor Park, operated by the Frederick County Division of Parks and Recreation, may be found at www.rosehillmuseum.com or by calling the 24-hour program line at 301-600-1650.
