Woman Helping to Gather Blankets for Animals at the Humane Society of Washington County

Woman Helping to Gather Blankets for Animals at the Humane Society of Washington County

Hagerstown, MD- Washington County resident, Cheryl Phillips, will be holding a "blanket drive" to help replace the numerous blankets that were destroyed after an outbreak of Parvovirus at the shelter.
"I saw the article in the newspaper and felt I just had to do something to help the animals get more blankets," said Ms. Cheryl Phillips of Cascade, Maryland. Ms. Phillips contacted Mike Pryor, owner of Mike & Travis' Mountain Shadows Restaurant in Blue Ridge Summit, Pennsylvania, who agreed to allow her to setup a blanket collection station in the restaurant for the weekend of October 20 and 21. Ms. Phillips will be at the restaurant, located at 14965 Buchanan Trail East in Blue Ridge Summit, Pennsylvania from 8am to 1pm.
"This is a very nice thing for Ms. Phillips to do for the shelter," said Paul Miller, executive director of the Humane Society of Washington County. He added," The blankets will be put to good use, providing warmth and comfort for the animals." No electric blankets please.
Anyone interested in donating blankets may take them to Mike & Travis' Mountain Shadows Restaurant the weekend noted above or bring them to the Humane Society of Washington County at 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, MD. Please call 301-733-2060 for hours or visit our website at www.hscmd.org.
