The 1st Annual Maryland Theatre Benefit Concert

The 1st Annual Maryland Theatre Benefit Concert

The Maryland Theatre was built in 1915, partially destroyed by fire in 1974 and reopened in 1978. The marvelous acoustics are only surpassed by the wonderful ambiance of The Theatre. The Theatre provides comfortable seating for 1300 at performances of country artists, comedians, orchestra concerts, children's shows, musicians, recitals, stage shows, and others. Over 81,200 patrons, including more than 23,500 school students/children, attended performances here in 2007. The 1st Annual Maryland Theatre Benefit Concert is set for Saturday, August 11, 2007. The concert is being held to raise funds for the theatre, whose city, county, and state funding has been severely cut in recent years. Featuring more than 10 bands, art vendors, food, and so much more, the concert is helping to ensure there will always be "a stage for every age."
So please, come out, show your support, and enjoy a great day of music and art. Outdoor activities begin at 11am and indoor activities begin at 4pm.
Performances include: The Blue Sky Traffic, Seventh Seal, IL Duce, Josh Morningstar, MC Young Einstein, Lumpy Jones, The Freddie Long Band, River Knot, The Lonesome Bottom Boys, Revelation, Brandon Keller, David Manning, Mike Seibert and more.
