Traffic Advisory: Installation of New Storm Drain Lines

Traffic Advisory
Installation of New Storm Drain Lines

The excavation began on July 10, 2007 and will continue until about August 3, 2007. Work crews from Henson & Son, Inc. will continue excavating in the intersection of West Wilson Blvd at Maryland Avenue to install new storm drain lines and relocate existing gas and water lines. The work area for this phase will be the center of Wilson Blvd between the ends of the medians across Maryland Avenue.
Wilson Blvd traffic will be reduced to one travel lane in each direction. Eastbound and Westbound Wilson Blvd traffic will be permitted to turn right onto Maryland Avenue in both directions. No left turns will be allowed onto Maryland Avenue from either direction.
Maryland Avenue will be closed across the intersection. Northbound and southbound traffic on Maryland Avenue will be required to turn right onto Wilson Blvd at all times. Motorists approaching the intersection should expect to encounter barricades, traffic control devices, and detour signs until the work is completed.
Emergency vehicles will be able to travel both directions on Wilson Blvd, but will not be able to cross Wilson Blvd. at Maryland Avenue.
The City regrets any inconvenience caused by this work.
Please contact this office at 301-739-8577 extension 125 if there are any questions.
Upon completion of the storm drain work, West Wilson Blvd will be re-paved this fall.
