Boonsboro High Team Wins District "We the People" Competition

Boonsboro High Team Wins District "We the People" Competition

Boonsboro High School's team won the district "We the People" competition on December 18, 2006. The district level competition tested the students' knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and how to apply it to current events. Each participating school, which included North Hagerstown High and Clear Spring High, was required to present a 4-minute statement about a topic related to the Constitution, and then answer questions based on that topic for another 6 minutes. Local teachers, professionals, and elected officials served as competition judges.
Boonsboro High's team was comprised of students from the AP Government class: Amanda Bundick, Jacob Demers, Katie Farr, Turner Hirsh, Maura James, Kyle Kane, Courtney Monniger, Ira Redman, and Jon Wood.
Along with Boonsboro's first place finish, North High placed third and Clear Spring High placed fourth. Each school will compete in the state "We the People" event on February 12, 2007.
