Hospice of Washington County, Inc. (HWC) volunteers are key members of the team of professional caregivers providing support to people dealing with illness, grief, and loss. As a hospice volunteer you will make a difference.
HWC is a Medicare certified, JCAHO approved licensed program that provides nursing, nursing aide, social work, spiritual and volunteer support services. Our winter training program for those wishing to become volunteers will be held from 9am-3pm on January 24, 26, 31, and Feb. 1, 2007.
The program is designed to provide an understanding of the dying patient and his/her family. Materials are presented by various lecturers and videos, followed up with small group discussions. Men and women, over the age of 18, are needed from all areas of Washington County. Please call the Volunteer Services Coordinator at 301-791-6360.
