Is Your Green Thumb Itching?

Is Your Green Thumb Itching?

Is your green thumb itching to try something new? Become a Master Gardener and turn your gift for gardening into a gift to the community.
Applications are now being accepted for a new training class for Washington County Master Gardeners that will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 9-Noon from February 20 to April 12, 2007 at the Washington County Extension Office on the Sharpsburg Pike in Boonsboro.
Once Master Gardeners have completed their formal training, they become volunteer representatives of both the University of Maryland and the Maryland Cooperative Extension. Each Master Gardener contributes at least 20 volunteer hours a year. And all Master Gardeners have ongoing opportunities for education through monthly meetings, University programs and off-site seminars.
So how do you get involved? Call Annette Ispan, Master Gardener program coordinator at 301-791-1604 or email her at aipsan@umd.edu to request an application.
