The right to fly the American flag signed into law

The right to fly the American flag signed into law

As of Monday, July 24, 2006 you now have the legal right to fly the American flag.
President Bush signed into law House Bill 42 to ensure the rights of homeowners to fly the flag.
This comes after homeowner associations were telling their residents it would depreciate the value of their homes.
Maryland Congressman Roscoe Bartlett, who first introduced the bill, was on hand for the signing with President Bush.
He said he was alarmed when he found out that homeowners' first amendment rights were being infringed upon.
Congressman Bartlett's flag legislation is the first of 10 on Congress' American Values agenda to become law.
