Stonecroft Apartments helps homeless animals, again

Stonecroft Apartments helps homeless animals, again

Hagerstown, MD: Residents of Stonecroft Apartments recently collected a wide variety of items for the animals at the Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC). On Wednesday December 7, 2011 they donated those items to the shelter.
"The residents were really excited about doing this collection drive again," said Ms. Margaret Fishack, Social Services Coordinator at Stonecroft Apartment. "This is the 2nd year they have done this collection and they were asking about it back in October!" The resident's generosity was evident as two carts were wheeled out to the HSWC vehicle. In addition to toys, treats and food for the animals the residents also donated a book of stamps and $20.00 in cash.
"This is just so nice of the Stonecroft residents," said Paul Miller, Executive Director of the HSWC. "It is just in time, too, as our Home for the Holidays adoption promotion campaign is in full swing and we are trying to make folks aware of the wonderful adoptable animals we have at the shelter."
Anyone interested in helping with the Home for the Holidays adoption promotion is invited to contact Ben Cross at the HSWC. The shelter is located at 13011 Maugansville Road in Hagerstown, MD. The phone number is 301-733-2060 and the HSWC website is, www.hswcmd.org, for information on animal related issues, directions to the shelter and information about our programs and services.
