Date Set for Antietam Healthcare Foundation's Annual Festival of Trees New Location
Date Set for Antietam Healthcare Foundation's Annual Festival of Trees
(Hagerstown, MD): The 6th annual Festival of Trees event, formerly held at Robinwood Medical Center, has outgrown its old location. With an ever-growing number of attendees, the need for additional space became clear in 2008, when almost every event was completely sold out. "We are excited about the growing popularity of this event. The move to Hager Hall provides expanded opportunities to accommodate visitors, showcase our decorator and recognize our supporters," says Sandra Pollack, Executive Director for Antietam Healthcare Foundation.
Showcasing nearly 50 trees and wreaths, in addition to a model train display, a gift shop, special events, and holiday entertainment, the festival provides a fabulous way to kick-off the holiday season each year. Although there will be some minor changes in scheduling, most of the favorite events are back for 2009, still offering something for everyone. Events held during the festivities include a Senior Social, a Sugar Plum father-daughter dance, an intimate Holiday Tea for friends and family, loads of activities for children and the crowning attraction, the tree, wreath, & train display.
The most noteworthy change is the "Preview Party", normally held at the beginning of the event, the event will feature "Festival Finale Party". This party will be a semi-formal cocktail reception, which will serve to conclude the event on Saturday evening. This will offer visitors an opportunity to be present when the silent auction closes and immediately know if they've won one of the lovely holiday displays. And also offer a perfect venue in which to recognize supports and decorating winners.
In years past, visitors were enchanted and inspired by trees and wreaths of various themes from whimsical to classic and country to contemporary. "The creativity and imagination of the decorators continues to amaze us, year after year," says Nicki Brinegar, Manager of special events & communications for the Foundation.
Don't miss this year's Festival of Trees, presented by Centra Bank at Hager Hall Conference & Events Center (beside the Clarion Hotel), beginning Tuesday, December 1st through Saturday, December 5th, 2009.
