Insurance Administration Announces Consumer Opportunities for Washington County

Insurance Administration Announces Consumer Opportunities for Washington County

Baltimore, MD (April 9, 2009): The Maryland Insurance Administration will be participating in community events in the next couple of weeks in Washington County. This state regulatory agency offers a variety of consumer materials on all types of insurance products from annuities to title insurance and health, auto and homeowners insurance. Trained staff also will be available to answer consumer questions.
"Education and consumer-awareness are key factors to your financial security and to a healthy insurance market," said Ralph S. Tyler, Maryland Insurance Commissioner. "The better consumers understand the products and policies available to them, the better purchasing decisions they will make and the better protection they will have in the event of a loss or accident."
The MIA will be present on April 23, 2009 from 9 to 4:30 at the Washington County Administration Building, 100 West Washington Street, Hagerstown.
The full schedule of agency outreach activities and all the agency's consumer materials are available on our website, www.mdinsurance.state.md.us, as well as by request and at various community events.
