Washington County Teacher of the Year Finalists Named

Washington County Teacher of the Year Finalists Named

Hagerstown, MD (April 2, 2009): The list of nominees for Washington County Public Schools' 2010 Teacher of the Year has been narrowed to seven finalists.
A committee recently announced the following names:
* Sara Belin- 4th grade at Bester Elementary School
* Jaime Mason- Math at Clear Spring Middle School
* Amber Madigan- Math at Smithsburg Middle School
* Kevin Seburn- Science at Washington County Technical High School
* David Warrenfeltz- Math at North Hagerstown High School
* Tracey Wolbert- 1st grade at Salem Avenue Elementary School
* Amy Yingling- French at Springfield Middle School
"There are amazing, dedicated teachers in Washington County, and it's an honor to be part of this process with the Chamber of Commerce," said Carol Corwell-Martin, WCPS supervisor of professional development and Teacher of the Year committee member. "We look forward each year to celebrating all our great teachers in the county as part of this annual recognition."
The 2010 Teacher of the Year will be named at the annual dinner and recognition on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Fountain Head Country Club. The Teacher of the Year program is a partnership between the Hagerstown/Washington County Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc. and Washington County Public Schools.
