Wisdom from a Furry Friend: Sweet Little Kitten Needs Your Help

Wisdom from a Furry Friend
Sweet Little Kitten Needs Your Help

Hi. My name is JoJo. I am a very sweet young female cat from the Humane Society of Washington County. I have been here a very long time and I am really hoping someone will read this column and will want to come make me a part of their family.
I am quite a celebrity, you know. I have been Pet of the Week on WHAG TV and on Antietam Cable and I have been to adoption events at Longmeadow Shopping Center, PetCo, Wolf Furniture, the Staples weeklong adoption campaign and I was even at the Home Show but no one has taken me home. I am a very pretty girl with a solid black coat and dark eyes. I am already altered so I can go home really soon, too.
You know, I was originally a stray kitten. My mommy had me and then I got lost from her. Being a stray was scary because I wasn't sure how I would get my next meal and there were lots of dangers out there. Cars would go whizzing by and dogs and other critters would chase me and I was frightened. It is not an easy life being a stray.
If people would spay and neuter their cats there wouldn't be unwanted and stray kittens and cats looking for food and having more stray kittens. It is so important to stop unwanted litters because there will be no one to take care of the kittens. Luckily the Humane Society has people called Foster Parents who will help when pregnant cats or newborn litters come into the shelter. They take the mommy and her kittens home and raise them until they are old enough to be adopted. If you think you would be a good foster parent you can call the Humane Society and ask for Holly.
People can help in other ways, too. Right now the shelter is experiencing a shortage of cat and kitten food. They need Purina Cat Chow in the blue bag for the cats and Purina Kitten Chow because kitten season is almost here. That means there will be an increase in the number of pregnant cats and newborn kittens coming to the shelter. They will all need good homes with loving families, just like me.
I would like to have someone love me forever so if you think you can make room for me in your home and in your heart please come meet me. I think you will see how nice I am and how much I want to be loved by you. Come to the Humane Society of Washington County at 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, MD. Their phone number is 301-733-2060 or you can visit them at their website,
I hope to see you real soon. I could use some cuddles and hugs.
