HCC Announces Graduates in CNA/GNA Program

HCC Announces Graduates in CNA/GNA Program

(Hagerstown, MD): Hagerstown Community College recently graduated 24 students in the Certified Nursing Assistant / Geriatric Nursing Assistant (CNA/GNA) program. The graduation ceremony took place on Tues., Dec. 16, 2008, in HCC's Classroom Building. Students were presented with certificates and pins by Deb McClain, HCC instructor, CNA/GNA and Certified Medicine Aide.
Graduates included Kelly Anderson, Kendra Apple-Davies, Lindsey Beaver, Kayla Bodnar, Rachael Boon, Alicia Chaney, Breanna Donovan, Candace Huff, Natalie Jackson, Ashley Johnson, Amber McCormick, Megan Meadors, Ashley Myers, Nicole Ritchey, Heather Seek, Shamika Slater, Dionne Smith, Brooke Stine, all of Hagerstown; Linda Cobb, of Martinsburg; Lindee Harr, of Needmore, Pa.; Amanda Pryor and Amber Stevens, both of Sharpsburg; Carolyn Windsor, of Smithsburg; and Patrick Bowers, of Williamsport.
The CNA/GNA program is a seven-credit-hour program that awards students with a letter of recognition upon completion. Course content includes disease processes, systems review, nutrition, and infection control. Successful completion of the program allows students to be registered with the Maryland Board of Nursing as a certified nursing assistant. Students who have completed the program are also eligible to sit for the state exam for geriatric nursing assistants.
