Leadership Washington County Now Accepting Applications for Class XXIII

Hagerstown, MD: Leadership Washington County (formerly known as Leadership Hagerstown) is now accepting applications for Class XXIII.
Leadership Washington County's mission is to provide additional leadership training and community immersion for individuals identified as accomplished in their business, non-profit or government sectors.
This flagship program began in 1987 and has graduated more than 600 individuals. Graduates of the program go on to serve on boards, run for public office and take on other leadership roles in the community.
"The program makes a significant contribution to Washington County by providing participants with an intensive hands-on course of study and a unique opportunity to explore issues and form alliances," said Cindy Jackson-Kalkbrenner.
Each year, approximately 30 people are selected to participate in the program, which begins in September with a weekend retreat and ends in June the following year. The opening retreat will take place on September 25, 26 and 27 at the Wisp Resort. Tuition for 2009-2010 is $1700. A $50 application fee is also charged.
To request an application, call the office of Leadership Washington County at 301-791-5807 or via email at cindy@leadershipwashingtoncounty.org or you can apply online at www.leadershipwashingtoncounty.org. The deadline for submission of applications is March 27, 2009.
