Museum Reaches its Waltersdorf/Henson Challenge Goal

Museum Reaches its Waltersdorf/Henson Challenge Goal

Hagerstown, MD: The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts announces they have reached their Waltersdorf/Henson Endowment Challenge Campaign fundraising commitment of $100,000. On Tuesday, January 20, Museum Board President Tom Newcomer and Museum Director Rebecca Massie Lane presented
Brad Sell, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Washington County MD, Inc. the final installment of their fundraising efforts. "This is a truly remarkable accomplishment for the Museum in its service to the citizens of Washington County", says Newcomer.
The Foundation has just transferred $50,000 into the Museum's endowed fund, and this final installment insures that the Museum will receive all of its matching dollars. These unrestricted funds shall help the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts to continue offering its exhibitions, programs and Saturday morning Youth Art classes free to the public.
