The Mansion House: Take a stroll through history
The Mansion House
Take a stroll through history
The Mansion House sits high on a hill in Hagerstown's City Park. John Heyser built this Georgian-style mansion in 1846 using native limestone and bricks made of mud from the lake that the house overlooks.
This massive house has a large wrap-around porch and now serves as the headquarters for the Valley Art Association. Visitors to the Mansion House can view and purchase the works of over twenty local artists. The old Mansion House creates a beautiful setting for the art that is displayed. In addition to serving as a gallery, the Mansion House also is used for classes and a meeting place for the Association.
The Mansion House is open year-round and is located on Virginia Ave in Hagerstown. Take a stroll...enjoy the sights...leave with an original work of art!
