WaynesboroFest and 2006 summer jubilee

June 30 through July 9, 2006 the Borough of Waynesboro is hosting a ten-day event that showcases the rich heritage and charm of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.
Twenty minutes from Hagerstown, Maryland, the WaynesboroFest and 2006 Summer Jubilee offers a variety of things to do and see.
Come early for Breakfast in Hollywood, view a Children's Sidewalk Chalk Contest, listen to concerts by the Wayne Band and PA National Guard Band; stay for a Car Show featuring cars, trucks, street rods, and motorcycles through 1979 then learn how to hand quilt at the Quilt Exhibit.
On July 3, 5, 7, 8, and 9, visit Harbaugh Hall at Trinity United Church of Christ for a historical Civil War play (written by Rev. H. Clayton Moyer) called "15 Days Under the Confederate Flag". This play celebrates the 15 days the Confederate flag flew over Waynesboro.
The Borough of Waynesboro is offering several walking tours: Churches of Waynesboro Walking Tour is a guided tour at Noon at Grace Brethren Church (250 Philadelphia Avenue). Downtown Walking Tour, led by a local historian, is a guided tour where he will discuss local history. Battle of Monterey Battlefield Walk is a guided tour by the National Park Service at 10:00a.m. on July 3, 2006.
Interested in church events? Then join Blue Rock Church (with area churches participating) on July 8 at 7p.m. for "Hymn Sing" or visit Trinity United Church of Christ on July 9 for "Biblical Echoes from Broadway" at 7p.m. for Broadway songs that reflect Judeo/Christian beliefs.
WaynesboroFest store will open in June with merchandise such as lottery raffle tickets, 16-month calendars, coloring books, clothing, pottery and more. Events are free unless otherwise noted. Some events will require a ticket. Tickets will be available in June and may be picked up at the WaynesboroFest store, located in the First National Bank of Greencastle.
