Welcome Spring

Welcome Spring. The longer hours, pleasant temperatures, sprouting of plants and flowers, and the chirping of colorful birds announce a time of renewal - a time of spring. Spring in Washington County, Maryland is simply breathtaking.
As I've said in past issues, plants and flowers breaking their way up through the dirt, fill our yards and spirits with happier times. There's nothing like spring weather to rejuvenate and inspire us - taking away our winter blahs. Our body and mind ache to get out in the warm sunshine, whether it's to go hiking, walking, biking, or just to sit on the porch and watch the days pass by.
While the trees are bare, we can see the beautiful blooming dogwood trees and wildflowers stretching across fields. The brisk wind draws us to the park for kite-flying. The warm sun welcomes us into the garden and workshop for outdoor projects.
In this year's Picket News Spring Tourism Guide readers will find history in the making, shopping, theatre, music, student-ran programs and events, beautiful spots to hike and take in nature and wildlife, places to take the family, baseball games and races to attend, places to learn about agriculture and more.
Get out in the sun and see what beautiful Washington County, Maryland has to offer.

Yours in Ink,

Jennifer Leese, Editor
