Discover it all! Christmas in Jefferson County, West Virginia.

This holiday season Jefferson County has enhanced the already outstanding line-up of holiday events by adding a few new twists.
The Old Tyme Christmas in Harpers Ferry has always been a favorite. This year's event will be held on the second weekend in December 9, 10, 11. The Harpers Ferry National Historical Park and Harpers Ferry merchants have teamed up to offer an outstanding line-up of activities including a living nativity at St. Peter's Church, an old tyme Santa, music, entertainment, and traditions of a Civil War Christmas.
On December 10, the town of Bolivar will join Harpers Ferry's celebration with their new Small Towne Christmas event. A holiday parade, arrival of Santa Claus, Christmas tree lighting and community awards will kick off the event.
Then both towns, Bolivar and Harpers Ferry, will combine in a new event-the lighting of two miles of spectacular luminaries on both sides of Washington Street from the Visitors Center to the National Park.
Nearby Shepherdstown offers their Holiday Marketplace at the War Memorial Building on German Street from 10-4 on the Saturdays December 10, and 17. Shepherdstown stores and restaurants will be open every evening in December.
The City of Charles Town has added to their Christmas offerings this year. As an addition this year, downtown businesses will be outlined in lights. Those lights will be lighted each night in December.
Charles Town's Annual Holiday Horse Parade at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 11 will anchor the town events. The Annual Bed and Breakfast Open House will also be held on December 11 at the Washington House Inn and the Carriage House. The Friday nights throughout December will offer a bon fire, marshmallow roast with hot chocolate and rides on the old Charles Town Trolley downtown. Merchants will stay open late each Friday night in December prior to Christmas and local clubs will provide free gift-wrapping in the Charles Town Visitors Center.
The Old Opera House in Charles Town will present the ever-popular Miracle on 34th Street on December 8, 9, 10, and 11.
