CVB's Tom Riford Receives Department of Natural Resources Award from DNR Secretary John Griffin

CVB's Tom Riford Receives Department of Natural Resources Award from DNR Secretary John Griffin

(Greenbrier State Park, Maryland)- The Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau's President and CEO Tom Riford received a Certificate of Appreciation from John R. Griffin, the Secretary of Maryland's Department of Natural Resources. Joining in the ceremony was Hannah Byron, the Assistant Secretary for Maryland's Tourism, Film, and the Arts.
According to Secretary Griffin, the award was given because of Tom Riford's significant efforts in working closely with Maryland's parks, and his efforts in promoting tourism in Western Maryland.
The Certificate read, in part: "In recognition and appreciation for your outstanding efforts in promoting Maryland's state parks and natural resources throughout Washington County. Your tireless efforts and dedication including testifying in the recent session of the Maryland General Assembly, ensures visitors and citizens of Maryland will continue to enjoy, protect and preserve these cultural, historical, and recreational resources for many generations to come."
The presentation took place at Greenbrier State Park, following a meeting with the DNR Secretary and members of the staff and management of state parks in Western Maryland, DNR, and friends groups and supporters of Maryland's state parks.

The Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization whose mission is to help attract visitors to Hagerstown and Washington County.
