The Dumpster Program
Hagerstown, MD (March 26, 2008)- The City of Hagerstown announces its annual spring dumpster program for City residents. Proof of residency will be required.
The dumpster program will run from Monday April 14, 2008, through Saturday April 19, 2008 at the intersection of South Potomac Street and West Memorial Boulevard, (across from Bester Elementary School). Entry can be made from South Potomac Street by making a right hand turn into the alley just past New Deal Truck Parts & Service.
Dumping hours will be from 7am until 7pm Monday through Friday and from 7am until 3pm on Saturday. No dumping after 3pm on Saturday will be permitted.
The following items are not permitted: tires, batteries, paint, chemical waste, or any other hazardous waste. Also, items that contain freon such as refrigerators, air conditioners and dehumidifiers are not permitted.
Further, the dumpsters are not to be used by commercial haulers.
We ask that you not place yard waste or recyclable items in the dumpsters since the City currently has a separate program for those types of items. Information on the yard waste and/or recyclable items can be obtained by calling 301-739-8577, x106.
