No Fall Dumpster Program
Hagerstown, MD (September 19, 2007)- The City of Hagerstown will not be conducting a Dumpster Program during the Fall 2007 season. The next City Dumpster Program is tentatively scheduled for the week of April 14th though the 19th of 2008.
"Residents of Hagerstown can continue to use the Bulk Trash Collection Program," said Eric Deike, Public Works Manager. "Collections of large items such as furniture, appliances, scrap metal, and small amounts of wood are scheduled on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. It is necessary to make arrangements for a collection by scheduling one at 51 West Memorial Boulevard between Monday and Friday during the hours of 8am through 4:30pm and providing a list of items that will be collected," said Deike.
There is a minimum fee of $25 per scoop for collection, which is due at the time of application. Any items that contain Freon, such as refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners require an additional fee of $25 per item. All items scheduled to be collected must be placed by the sidewalk no later than 7am on the scheduled day of collection and no earlier than 4pm on the evening prior to pickup. Items that will not be collected include tires, batteries, paint, pesticides, automotive parts, items containing gasoline, oil and propane, household trash and yard waste.
