Boosting Curb Appeal

Boosting Curb Appeal

Hagerstown, MD (June 21, 2007) - The Hagerstown Beautification Advisory Committee (HBAC) has implemented a program to recognize those who have contributed to boosting the curb appeal of the City of Hagerstown. The Highlight Hagerstown Beautification Awards program has been designed to show appreciation to those who have beautified their residential or commercial property. Beautification efforts can vary from landscaping to facade improvements.
The HBAC is asking for help in finding those who deserve recognition for their efforts. You can nominate a resident, a business or even yourself for this prestigious award. Projects must occur within the corporate limits of the City of Hagerstown.
"We are looking for those individuals or businesses who have made the city a better place to live, work and visit through various beautification efforts. When considering who you would like to nominate, think of a neighbor that put a little extra effort in landscaping their front yard or maybe a local favorite restaurant that has taken the time to upgrade their facade with a fresh coat of paint," stated Melissa Hynes from the Hagerstown Planning Department.
Nominations are being accepted from now until August 1, 2007. Winners will receive their awards at a City Council meeting at the end of August and will also be listed on the City of Hagerstown's website.
Nomination forms are available on the City of Hagerstown's website (www.hagerstownmd.org) and in the Hagerstown Planning Department's front office. For more information please contact the Hagerstown Planning Department at 301-739-8577.
