Morgan Named One of Maryland's Top 100 Women & Honored as Circle of Excellence Inductee

Superintendent of Washington County Public Schools Dr. Elizabeth Morgan has been named one of Maryland's Top 100 Women by the Daily Record, a newspaper covering Maryland business and legal news. Since Dr. Morgan was previously named to the list in 2001 and 2005, this year she will be inducted into the Circle of Excellence as a three-time honoree.
On Monday, May 7, the 2007 Maryland's Top 100 Women will be celebrated at a special event at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore. The event begins with a reception at 5pm, followed by a ceremony at 6:15pm in the auditorium where all 100 honorees from across the State of Maryland will be introduced. A special video presentation of the Circle of Excellence honorees will be viewed as part of the evening's festivities.
Since 1996, the Daily Record has recognized over 700 high-achieving Maryland women who are making an impact through their leadership, community service and mentoring. Women are recognized for their professional achievement, leadership in the community, and a demonstrated commitment to mentoring.
Dr. Morgan was named WCPS Superintendent in 2001. She is active in the arts community and participates on several cultural arts boards; Board of Directors, Chamber of Commerce; Hagerstown Rotary Club; participant in MD State Leadership Programs; Board of Directors, PenMar Development Corporation; UMD Advisory Board, and was part of the 2004 Class of Leadership Maryland.
