Gaming Commission funding announcement

In the Board of County Commissioners Meeting on Tuesday August 8, the Washington County Gaming Commission announced the Fiscal Year 2007 funding allocations from the Washington County Gaming Fund.
This year the Gaming Commission allocated $2,884,489.46 from gaming funds collected during the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2006.
In accordance with State Law, 50% of the funds collected or $1,442,244.73 will be distributed to the Washington County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association. The Association will then distribute the funds to the local fire and rescue companies throughout the County.
The remaining $1,442,244.73 will be distributed to 83 local charitable organizations that applied for gaming funds for this funding cycle.
