Liberty Street Construction

Liberty Street Construction

The City of Hagerstown's Water and Sewer Department has hired the firm of Am-Liner East, Inc. to install liners in sanitary sewer mains in the northeast and southeast quadrants of the City. The contractor began work at 7:00AM on April 18, 2006 in the 400 block of Liberty Street near Cleveland Avenue. The contractor has placed equipment on Liberty Street and "No Parking" signs near the work area. Over the week of the 24th, the contractor will also be placing equipment on Cleveland Avenue, Osborne Avenue, and East Franklin Street. Motorists approaching the work zones should expect to encounter flagmen, barricades, traffic control signs, and temporary wheel ramps to allow traffic to drive over the contractor's pipes and hoses. The work in these areas is expected to continue through at least Friday, April 28, although the actual duration of the work will depend upon the conditions that the contractor encounters.
Emergency vehicles will be able to pass through the work zones.
Future phases of the work will follow the sewer lines along Cannon Avenue to Memorial Boulevard. Additional Traffic Advisories will be distributed as the work progresses and the work zones shift along the route.
The City regrets any inconvenience caused by this work. Please contact the Water and Sewer Department office at 301-739-8577 ext. 650 if there are any questions.
