The Maryland Theatre: Has something for everyone
The Maryland Theatre
Has something for everyone
The Maryland Theatre is a magnificent structure built in 1915. During 1974, the Theatre was partially destroyed by a large fire. After immediate reconstruction, it reopened in 1978. The marvelous acoustics are only surpassed by the wonderful ambiance of the Theatre. Set in Downtown Hagerstown, The Maryland Theatre offers something for everyone, seating 1300 people comfortably.
Over 90,000 patrons, including more than 26,000 students, have attended performances over the years.
The Maryland Theatre has seen many wonderful events throughout its history. It has housed comedian George Carlin, teen idol Aaron Carter, as well as presenting Moscow Ballet's the Great Russian Nutcracker, and jazz and ballet assembles from area dance studios and much more. Children's shows, solo artists, stage shows, and orchestra productions frequently occur throughout the year.
