Miller & Anderson Mechanical Contractors Donate Savings Bonds to Maugansville Elementary School Students

Des Plaines, IL: Miller & Anderson, Hagerstown, Maryland, mechanical contractors, recently donated the savings bonds they earned from their participation in CHICAGO FAUCETS' Contractors for Education Program to students of Maugansville Elementary School in Maugansville, Maryland.
"When Will Seilhamer of Miller & Anderson first presented this suggestion for the donation, we were excited and pleased to reward students who give 100% effort in everything they do," said Deborah Favinger, principal of Maugansville Elementary. "The students we eventually selected were always courteous and respectful of teachers, as well as their peers."
Two Maugansville elementary students - Desiree Luttrell and Dylan Newell - were chosen by homeroom, special area teachers and Principal Favinger. Each received a $500 Savings Bond for "academic excellence" and "character counts" respectively at a special ceremony at the school May 28, 2008. The awards, which were earned by Miller & Anderson and donated to the school, were presented to the students by Principal Favinger; Ned Dwyer of E. J. Dwyer Company, a Chicago Faucet representative; and Will Seilhamer, Tom Dick and Trish Dick all from Miller & Anderson.
"We were very proud to be a part of this event," said John Fitzgerald, Director of Marketing for Chicago Faucets. "Miller & Anderson were among the many contractors who participated in the program in 2007 - a program that we are repeating this year."
Contractors for Education from Chicago Faucets is a program that rewards contractors when they order and install $5,000 of Chicago Faucets in a school project with a $500 U.S. Savings Bond. The contractor can designate a person of their choice to receive the bond or, in the case of Miller & Anderson, donate it.
"The contractor must be a licensed plumbing contractor," Fitzgerald said. "The Contractors for Education program is only open to plumbing contractors or plumbing contracting companies. We're delighted by Miller & Anderson's decision to share their reward with the students."
Miller & Anderson provides plumbing, piping, HVAC system design and installation as well as electrical services to industrial and commercial clients.
