Hagerstown-Based Wealth Management Firm Initiates Book Drive to Benefit Area Child Care Center

Hagerstown-Based Wealth Management Firm Initiates Book Drive to Benefit Area Child Care Center

Hagerstown, Md. (April 8, 2008)- Cornerstone Wealth Management Group, a Hagerstown-based wealth management firm, has announced plans to kick-off the Cornerstone Book Drive to benefit The Learning Center, a child care facility in Hagerstown affiliated with the Washington County Health System.
"It's great that our team can do something to benefit the Hagerstown community," said Scott Ford, founder of Cornerstone Wealth Management Group. "We're pleased to contribute books to The Learning Center and assist local children with their educational future."
Located on Summit Avenue, the Learning Center serves over 200 students from Washington County and the Tri-state area. The Center provides educational programs to meet the needs of children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. The primary focus of their well-trained staff is to encourage children's growth, enhance language skills, cognition, and the social and motor development of their students.
"We welcome the books to our library," said Chuck Wainwright, director of The Learning Center. "Early literacy is truly a foundation of later learning. The earlier we present books to our children, the better their academic futures."
"Most everyone in this community will come into contact with the Washington County Health System in some point of their lives," said Ford, on the Cornerstone Book Drive. "It just makes sense for us to want to give back. I hope that numerous local businesses and residents are motivated to contribute books for the center."
The Cornerstone Book Drive opened at the Open House and Ribbon Cutting ceremony on April 25, 2008. The book drive will run for two weeks ending on Friday, May 9, 2008. At that time, Cornerstone staff will hand deliver the books to The Learning Center.
The Cornerstone staff is requesting donations of both new and gently used children's books by businesses and residents of Washington County. Books can be dropped off at the office of Cornerstone Wealth Management Group at 19833 Leitersburg Pike, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9am to 4:30pm.
