A Natural Remdey for Low Blood Pressure

You have probably heard people complain about their blood pressure being too high, but how about low blood pressure? Research has shown that low blood pressure, also known as hyptension, is not as common as high blood pressure, however, many people do suffer from symptoms caused by low blood pressure. "If you have low blood pressure, you know that sometimes so little blood reaches your brain that simply getting out of a chair may be all it takes to make the room start swimming around you. But it is not just dizziness that results from low blood pressure - fatigue can also be a problem." (Dean Coleman)
Now you're probably wondering what causes low blood pressure...well infections, fever and anemia, excessive bleeding and certain types of debilitating diseases can cause it.
Low blood pressure generally refers to a blood pressure reading below an average of about 120/80 mmHg. But how low is too low? Health.nineMSN says that it is better to have low blood pressure than high blood pressure. On occasion, low blood pressure, which causes dizziness, light-headedness, and sometimes fainting, needs no treatment; however, if you suffer low blood pressure, being seen by a doctor couldn't hurt - your life just may depend on it.
Blood pressure is determined by 3 main factors - cardiac output (the rate at which blood is pumped from the heart), the volume of blood in the blood vessels, and the capacity of the blood vessels (as determined by their internal diameter).
There are numerous causes for excessively low blood pressure - reduced cardiac output may be one of them, reduced blood volume and excessive dilation of the blood vessels may be others. Pregnant women also often have low blood pressure.
"Rudolf Weiss, the German herbalist, has some interesting ideas on low blood pressure. He describes it as being simply an aspect of a more deep-seated problem. He also believes that when people have low blood pressure but no symptoms, that it does not require treatment. 'I do not suggest that this should replace your doctor's advice though! Shepherd's Purse: Acts to constrict the blood vessels and thus can raise blood pressure but it has also been said to regularize blood pressure and heart action whether the pressure is too high or too low.
Garlic is a good oxygen carrier. One of the greatest aids for low or high blood pressure because of oxygen starvation is deep breathing, which serves as a catalyst and helps the herbs react more rapidly. An immediate increase in circulation may be obtained by the use of cayenne and non mucus-forming foods. Grape juice as well as beet and pomegranate juice rebuild and give endurance to the system.
Valerian: The herb has a beneficial effect on the heart and on blood pressure.
Hawthorn Berries: A celebrated cardiac tonic for many centuries. Under conditions of stress, the heart often "works overtime." Hawthorn berries can help in treatment of high or low blood pressure, tachycardia, and arrhythmia. It is also anti-spasmodic, sedative, and soothing to nerves, especially in nervous insomnia.
Rosemary is excellent for the circulation, and is often prescribed by herbalists for circulatory weakness (Fisher & Painter). The active constituents known as the flavanoids are heart and blood vessel tonics. So, as well as hypotension, rosemary is suggested for poor circulation, hypertensive headaches, and arrhythmias.
Here are few useful low blood pressure cure home recipes:
Rosemary Heart Oil
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup dried rosemary leaves
Pour oil over leaves in a clean jar. Place in a warm location (in the sun or on a radiator, for instance) for 2 days. Strain out the leaves. Use this infusion as a massage oil to rub on the chest. (MotherNature.com)
Morning Biscuits with Rosemary
1 cup unbleached flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
Dash of salt
1/2 tbsp sugar
3/4 cup milk
2 tbsp butter
2 tsp crumbled, dried rosemary (or 2 tbsp fresh, chopped)
Excluding the rosemary, sift dry ingredients together in a large bowl. With a fork or pastry cutter, work the butter into the dry ingredients - some small lumps will remain. Add the rosemary and milk and mix well to form a soft dough.
Roll out the dough to 1/2-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Cut into 2-inch rounds and place on a greased and lightly floured baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes at 400¯ F. Makes about 1 1/2 dozen. (HerbalMusings)
Rosemary-Lavender Carpet Shampoo
This recipe makes enough for a 10' x 13' room. If you can't find soap flakes, you can use 1/4 cup borax instead, but test the outcome of this substitution on a small area first.
2 cups baking soda
1/2 cups soap flakes
20 drops lavender essential oil
8 drops rosemary essential oil
1/2 cup vinegar
2 cups warm water
1. Sweep carpet to be cleaned with a broom or carpet sweeper to loosen dirt, then vacuum the entire area.
2. Combine the baking soda and soap flakes in a plastic bowl. Add the essential oils and mix well, breaking up any clumps with a fork. Sprinkle the mixture on the carpet.
3. Add the vinegar to the warm water in a bucket or pail. Dip a clean sponge mop into the bucket and squeeze out as much excess liquid as you can.
