Gifted & Talented Students at Ruth Ann Monroe Primary Hold Successful Food Drive for Salvation Army

Hagerstown, MD (December 13, 2012) - The Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) students at Ruth Ann Monroe Primary School collected canned food donations for the Salvation Army between October 26 and December 6, 2012. The students set a goal of 700 items, but went well beyond that in generating donations of 1,101 items. Second grade students counted and boxed the items to distribute to the Salvation Army. The students learned valuable lessons about working with a community agency and doing good things for other people.
