Dawg Days of summer bark to school photo contest to help homeless animals

Hagerstown, MD: Submissions are being taken for Anderson Photographs' Dawg Days of Summer & Bark to School photo contest that is being held during the months of August and September. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC).
Award winning photographer Melanie Anderson will be holding 20-minute sessions to capture unique images for her upcoming 2011 canine calendar. The cost for each session will be $49.00 and a donation of $10.00 will be made to the HSWC. The dog's owner will choose one photograph that will be placed on line for a People's Choice voting contest for the honor of Cover Canine. The winner will be announced on Saturday October 30th.
A panel of esteemed judges will choose winners in a variety of categories and one canine will receive the ultimate honor of center pupperfold. This dog will then return for an elaborate photo shoot. "This is the first time I have put together a canine calendar and I am really looking forward to it," said Anderson. "We have come up with a variety of fun categories for dogs to win and I think the center pupperfold will really be the pup de resistance." Owners are encouraged to bring props and costumes that they think will enhance the session for their dogs.
Anyone interested in participating in this inaugural canine extravaganza should call Anderson Photographs, located at 4 South Potomac Street in Hagerstown, MD, by calling 301 393 4515. Information can be found on their website at and on their Facebook page.
