From the Eye of a Washington County Collector

From the Eye of a Washington County Collector

Cliff Springer, owner of Benjamin Art Gallery, will exhibit a selection of original artwork from his personal collection in a show entitled "From the Eye of a Washington County Collector" at the Washington County Arts Council.
The exhibit will consist of 30 original paintings that Cliff has collected from the best 19th and 20th century artists that found their way to the local area. A few local contemporary artists' works also will be included, and some local settings are represented.
Cliff has chosen to share a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this collection with Barbara Ingram School for the Arts and the Washington County Arts Council, citing the importance of these two establishments in promoting artistic pursuits in the local community.
In addition, the North Gallery will feature a variety of work from BISFA's visual art department. Dr. Teresa Roberts, head of BISFA's visual art department, will be coordinating this exhibition.
"From the Eye of a Washington County Collector" will run April 21 to May 15. A special opening reception will be held Friday, April 23 from 6 to 9pm. The opening reception will feature a live auction at 7 pm in which Pieter Bickford, WHAG, and Cliff Springer will auction four select pieces from the exhibit.
The Washington County Arts Council is located at 14 W. Washington St. just before the public square in downtown Hagerstown, MD.
