Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre Sets Auditions for Frederick Premiere of 'All Shook Up'

Frederick, MD: The music of Elvis Presley makes its way to Western Maryland this season when the Frederick-area premiere of All Shook Up opens at the Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre this spring. Auditions for the theatre's production have been announced and will take place on Sunday, January 17th beginning at 5pm at Way Off Broadway.
Those auditioning are asked to bring a headshot and resume, as well as 16 bar of prepared music and be ready to sing, read from the script, and dance. All roles are open and non-union paying. All Shook Up is an exuberant jukebox musical that will have audiences dancing in the aisles! The time is 1955 when a mysterious motorcycling stranger comes to a square town in a square state and changes it and the lives of everyone he meets forever. This loopy tale of mismatched lovers in a Midwest burg incorporates classics that range from sweet romantic ballads like "Love Me Tender" to the rollicking "Devil in Disguise." Not to mention other hits like "Jailhouse Rock," "Blue Suede Shoes," "Can't Help Falling in Love," and "Don't be Cruel." Driven by sidesplitting tongue-in-cheek humor, The King's chart-toppers, and a tinge of genuine heart, All Shook Up is destined to become a WOB classic. The story is all new - the hits are all Elvis!
The show will open April 9 and continue through June 5, 2010. Performances are every Friday and Saturday evening, with matinees on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of each month, and early evening shows on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. Tickets are currently on sale and may be purchased by contacting the Box Office.
All Shook Up has a book by Joe DiPietro and is based on the music of Elvis Presley. Way Off Broadway's production will be directed by the theatre's Executive Producer, Bill Kiska, with choreography by Amanda Patten and musical direction by Jordan Stocksdale.
