An Autumn Stroll

An Autumn Stroll
Franklin County Master Gardeners

On Sunday, September 20, 2009 from noon until 5pm, Franklin County Master Gardeners are holding their annual fall garden tour. This year's tour is called "An Autumn Stroll". The tour will feature 11 gardens in five neighborhoods within Greencastle, with an exciting variety of sizes and styles. With two Master Gardeners' (marked with *asterisk in list below) properties included on the tour, "An Autumn Stroll" will take the visitor from gracious in-town properties to spacious woodland and hilltop gardens. Rough and uneven landscaping may be encountered, and so comfortable, low-heeled walking shoes are recommended.
Tickets for "An Autumn Stroll" are $10 apiece, with proceeds to go toward the educational programs presented by the Master Gardeners. Persons interested in attending are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at the Extension Office (181 Franklin Farm Lane), Snavely's Garden Corner (2106 LWE) and Plasterer's Florist & Greenhouse (990 LWE) in Chambersburg; and in Greencastle at Philips' Seeds & Garden Center (410 South Antrim Way) and Pure & Simple Natural Health (628 E. Baltimore Street). Ticket sale sites in Shippensburg are East Meets West Emporium (29 East King Street) and Lulu's Bread Box (306 East Garfield Street). Tickets will also be available in limited quantities at the tour sites on the 20th. For more details, call the Penn State Cooperative Extension office at 717-263-9226.
