Hagerstown Suns 2009 Promotional Schedule

Hagerstown Suns 2009 Promotional Schedule

Hagerstown, MD: The Hagerstown Suns unveiled their 2009 promotional schedule on Friday, complementing weekly fan-favorites like Feed Your Face Mondays and Patriotic Saturdays with an innovative collection of brand-new events.
The Suns, who start their season on the road April 9 at Lake County, will make their home debut against Delmarva on April 13. Following the Opening Night festivities, the Suns won't take long to proceed into a jam-packed promotional schedule that features nine giveways-including four statuettes honoring the members of the Suns' inaugural Hall of Fame Class-and 14 Fireworks Nights, the majority of them on Fridays.
"Our staff spent the off-season working hard to ensure that the 2009 Suns season wouldn't just be about great baseball, but also about high-quality entertainment that can appeal to any family," team president Bob Flannery said. "Throw in our affordable prices, and we feel like Municipal Stadium will be a place for people to return to again and again."
Early in the season, fans are sure to be eagerly awaiting the season's opening Fireworks Night, which will be presented by Coca-Cola on May 22. Long before then, however, the Suns' exciting cycle of weekly promotions will already be well under way. Each week will kick off with a Feed Your Face Monday, when fans will receive all-you-can-eat meals with their General Admission game ticket for just $10 ($13 for VIP seats). Senior Tuesday comes next, allowing seniors 60 and over to get a ticket for just $2. Tuesday games will also be Bingo Tuesdays, presented by Equipped for Life.
Wednesdays will be Dollar Days, with select concession items on sale for just $1, as well as Hagerstown Magazine Ladies Nights, when all ladies' tickets will cost just $5. On Thirsty Thursdays, come on out to the Cancun Cantina Beer Garden where fans will be able to purchase 12 oz. drafts for just $1.25 each, while Fridays will be home to the bulk of the Suns' Fireworks Nights.
The weekend will bring with it an exciting Saturday promotional slate, highlighted by the Patriotic Saturday festivities, presented by GEICO and WJAL TV. The Suns will wear their alternate red, white and blue jerseys for Saturday home games in 2009. Give-a-way Sat-a-days will be home to all the Suns' best promotional giveaways throughout the season, and the Saturday Night Fan Broadcast will give Suns supporters a chance to appear on the team's live radio broadcast.
Sundays will feature Suns Story Time, presented by the Washington County Arts Council, bringing Suns players out onto the field to read to young fans thirty minutes prior to each Sunday contest. Suns players will also be available to sign photos before each Sunday home game as part of the "Suns on Sundays" promotion, and Sunday post-games will be even more memorable in 2009 thanks to The Green Turtle, which will sponsor "Kids Run the Bases" this season.
"We're bringing in a great group of first-time sponsors this season, and each one is eager to help us bring an outrageous level of fan satisfaction to Municipal Stadium in 2009," Suns' Director of Corporate Partnerships Joel Pagliaro said.
In addition to their regular schedule of weekly promotions, the Suns will be hosting a few events this season so unique that they won't even be occurring on gamedays. The Suns will bring back their Beer Tasting Festival on an off-day July 23, and will also bring Dueling Piano's Night Out, a live entertainment show, to Municipal Stadium for the first time on July 9 while the Suns are out of town.
"Events like Dueling Piano's Night Out are what put the word 'special' into my official title," Suns Director of Promotions and Special Events Reed Hunley said. "With the amazing atmosphere that Dueling Piano's will bring to the ballpark, we really don't think July 9 should be considered an off-day."
The long list of other Suns promotions and special events not mentioned here will be announced throughout the season, as they approach.
