Safe Place Presents "An Evening of Comedy & Magic"

Hagerstown, MD: Friends of Safe Place, Washington County's Child Advocacy Center will present its 3rd annual Evening of Comedy & Magic featuring nationally-recognized and award-winning magicians at 7pm Saturday, March 14 at the Maryland Theatre.
Proceeds from the show support Safe Place, Washington County's Child Advocacy Center. The Center provides comprehensive services to children who have been physically or sexually abused. The Center and its partnering agencies provide these services collaboratively in one location in an effort to minimize the trauma these children experience.
"This variety show will be a yearly tradition for our family. They did such a great job of entertaining the kids and the adults. We still talk about how much fun we had. It's a worthy cause and a great way to spend time together as a family." - Treva Ghattas, Hagerstown
"Our family had a great time at the show last year! We were all on the edge of our seats. It was wonderful to do such a fun thing for such a great cause." - David Hayden and Elliott Lyles
The 2009 Evening of Comedy & Magic also promises to be a great evening, offering 4 shows in one, including performances by Chris McDaniel, Arthur Trace, Howard Mincone, and the Gulamerian Family.
Straight from Broadway is our "One Man Wild West Show," said Chris McDaniel, a veteran performer and actor who has starred in the Will Rogers Follies, Annie Get Your Gun and Oklahoma. Chris has also been seen on "America's Got Talent" and "The Late Show with David Letterman." If those credits aren't enough, please know that Chris McDaniel is a trick rope world champion. He'll be working his own brand of comedy into bullwhip cracking and trick roping (all of this with volunteers from the audience). For more information visit
Highly acclaimed by his peers as one of the most unique in the world of magic today, Arthur Trace is only the 8th magician in history to be awarded the Gold Medal International Award of Excellence. Take a physical comedian, a juggler, and a very personable entertainer with what seems to be boundless energy, and lightning fast wit, mix them all together and what do you have? The very funny and amazing Howard Mincone! For more information visit
Wait until you see what the Gulamerian Family has in store for us. Suffice to say, if you love animals, you will just love their magic. Instead of using human assistants in the act, the Gulamerians use incredibly beautiful show dogs. These days, everyone loves animals and these pampered pets will give you a magic show that you and your family will want to see again and again. This is the perfect act for a family show.
